Relatives Support
Relatives and
carers are encouraged to keep regular contact with the staff to
monitor their relative's health. Each Nurse on duty on both floors,
has a mobile phone designed specifically for relatives and friends
to speak to someone easily, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Home Manager encourages the
establishment of support groups for relatives as we recognise the
emotional impact of admission and the complex feelings experienced
by relatives during a resident's stay. Counselling services are
available if required.
We all have a common goal, which is the
well being and quality of life of each and every resident staying
with us.
Relatives are
encouraged to speak to senior staff on duty at any time and visit
whenever convenient. As a measure of security for residents, everyone
visiting Southdowns Nursing Home will be asked to sign in and out
using the Visitors Book.
